A Month-End That Reconciles

Refunds by Processing Date to match your Payouts, or by Order Date to match your Cohorts — one switch, both stated on the Report. Every Cost line carries its source and the date it applied.

Why the Reconciliation Usually Breaks

Almost every dispute between a profit tool and the books comes down to three things. Kompound makes all three explicit.

Refund Timing

A refund paid in September against an August Order belongs in September for your Payouts and in August for your Cohorts. Both views exist; the Report names the one in use.

Cost Dating

A supplier price change applies from its date, never retroactively. Closed months stay closed.

Cost Classification

Personnel and other expenses are classified as COGS, Marketing or Operating by you, so the Margin Ladder matches how you report.

A Source on Every Line

Shopify, entered, imported or Default Margin, each with a date. When a number is questioned, the answer takes one click.

Exports That Survive

CSV with the comparison period intact and formulas preserved, so your model doesn’t need rebuilding each month.

An Audit Log

Every change to a Cost, a filter or a setting, with who and when — the record an auditor or a board asks for.

Finance Questions

Is this a replacement for accounting software?

No. It's a management view built for decisions, and it reconciles to your books rather than replacing them. QuickBooks push is available.

Which Refund Basis should we use for close?

By Processing Date — it matches the Payouts you're reconciling against. Switch to Order Date when you want to ask what a month really earned.

Can we exclude wholesale or staff Orders?

Yes, with Global Filters, applied to financial Reports only and configurable per Store.

Can the bookkeeper have read-only access to one Store?

Yes. Invite them as a Viewer on that Store.
